[a piece of paper is tucked into one of Hanna's clothing drawers, so that it'll only be found when he's feeling well enough to come upstairs and shower/get a change of clothes/etc.:]

[Hanna had felt at least well enough to come up stairs two days after the news. Monday. And what a horrible monday it was. His eyes stung from crying, from the harsh low light of the basement, and...as he rifled through his drawer for new clothes, he found her letter, read and almost immediately following, cried.

It hurt a little to do it more, as if he were wringing out the last few drops from his reserve, but he couldn't help it. He just hoped that he could talk to her in a way that didn't feel dismissive because even if this spoke to his heart, he didn't have the energy or collected thought to talk her through this, make it better and change it so that they would both be comfortable.

Still, he took the letter and very gently and carefully folded it into a crane, the text on the outside making it look a little more exotic than the others in their room. It also reminded him of the way he always told her to write her feelings down when she was upset, and he smiled, knowing that her book, the letter was at least a little connected. That she actually listened to him about stuff like that, even if she said it was kind of stupid, made him feel a little better.

So, wiping his eyes, he quietly and calmly strings up the crane right above their bed, smiling at his handiwork. The first smile in days.

[The text is left for a day. It's hard to tell whether Hanna had thrown his PCD away or just gone to sleep after his emotional day, but when he gets back to it, the response is a little short, but...not too rough.]

[It's been a while since Hanna's big fight. He's still not sure what to think of it, trying to justify what he's done, but also the mounting guilt is weighing heavily upon him. He doesn't kill people...he never had, but...he had felt the need to. That it was necessary, no matter how guilty, how horrible it made him feel.

To kill fear was to bring hope, wasn't it? But at the same time, had he only been just proving himself to the city? Was it just skin deep?

[Okay, so. Hanna hasn't really been all that happy for a good long while now, so Xion thinks it's time for her to try her hand at cheering him up. And, well, this is the best she's got. Not that she really understands what the hell she's saying, but she thinks people like it? And some of them really like horses (or want to be horses she guesses, again, it's not something she particularly understands), so uh.

[Vriska hasn't contacted Hanna at all since Sunday-- she feels like talking to him would make it harder, for her and probably for him too-- but she has been doing a lot of thinking and introspection and she's pretty sure she knows how to articulate this now]

During the door event, I was pulled through Pitch's door by accident, and one of the things that happened was that these shadowy fear things got into my head and told me that they could keep me forever and make me like him, and showed me what it'd be like if that happened. I was awful and powerful and completely terrifying, and.

It was really, really tempting.

It didn't make me want to rush off and take them up on their offer; I couldn't do that to you. But it threw me back to when I was on Alternia, trying to be the strongest and scariest and best troll. I've been trying to kid myself for over a year, telling myself I can just turn the troll part of me off, but those shadows showed me that I can't, and that freaked me out. I was ashamed, too; like I wasn't being a good enough human for you if the idea of being powerful and feared was still so attractive.

... Anyway. That's not the only reason I've been in such a funk lately, but it's a big part of it.

Don't tell anyone about that, and don't tell him I told you. Okay?
