[she shakes her head]

[she settles closer and closes her eyes, but then thinks of something]

Is there anything that I could do that'd you consider cheating on you? Like, anything you want me to not do with other people?

Well...[He thinks about it a moment, but, nothing really comes to mind.] Not exactly...

I'd rather you not talk about what we've specifically talked about to other people, but...at the same time I wouldn't mind if you used your better judgement. Like talking to Lea about it is okay. My friends, people I know and wouldn't probably mind mentioning it too...but.

I dunno. I can't really think of anything. [He looks at her curious.] How about you?

God no. I'd definitely never do that; not to you.

And I can't think of anything that you don't already know about, so... yeah.

Well, alright. Since that's all cleared up, you ready for a nap?

Yeah.

[she's grabbing a blanket to pull over them, and presses her ear to his chest]

I missed warm. I missed you. I missed heartbeats; you have such a nice heartbeat.

[He doesn't mind at all, putting an arm around her.] I tell Lea that same thing all the time.

Do you mind me saying it to you?

Nope, not at all. Though, I think it means different things when I tell Lea. I mean, he didn't always have a heart beat. But that same sentimentality is still there.

So when he didn't have a heart, he literally didn't have a heart? Wow.

Was him not having one weird to get used to for you?

Yup, exactly.

And...sometimes. I mean, you get used to being able to feel a pulse and stuff with regular people, though I've dealt with undead before, and I suppose a nobody is a little like that, just...a hell of a lot more human than most dead things.

But Lea had more of a heart than he thought he did, so. It wasn't all that bad.

Yeah, I'm just talking about the physical part of it.

... You get used to it, but it's so bizarre at first. Like they're a dead body.

Just a little. It is a little more weird when they're actually cold. Lea's really warm...my Zombie friend is like, room temperature, and Conrad is like, frigid.

Hahahaha. So Pitch is like a zombie.

[she finds this amusing]

I don't think I ever touched him long enough to find out. Is he lukewarm?

Yeah! Like he has no body heat at all. It must be a spirit thing.

I have no idea.

Me neither. I didn't ask.

All I know is I'm definitely not going to compare him to a zombie to his face.

That would probably be a good idea.
