Hey, I told you why.

[Hanna's going to glance up at him and shrug.] Yeah, and I told you that it happened before Lea left for a week.

[Not that he's mad.]

[ huff. ]

He told me he... felt like he wanted to kiss me. It was weird, I remember that night he was talking about, and being nervous, but not really knowing why. It wasn't really a discussion, he said he couldn't keep being my Master when he felt that way. I think he thought he might take advantage of me.

But, I guess... I realized there was something off, so I told him I had to think about something. Joshua helped me realize that I liked him back--but I couldn't see it because [ hesitation; a sigh. ] ... I didn't think I deserved anyone.

[Hanna listens, raising his eyebrow a little, but not commenting. He doesn't really say much of anything until Riku gets to the last part, frowning.]

Yeah, well. I hope you realized that you were wrong because even I think I deserve someone. Whether or not I'm able to keep them is the other thing, but it's seemed to work out just fine. You have to stop letting your worries get in the way and yanno, do that listen to your heart thing that people from your world always talk about.

It'll tell you something, I'm sure. But...I'm glad you're happy with it. To be honest, I was a bit worried since yanno, you said you weren't interested in any of that, but if everything is all good and square then I have nothing to be concerned about.

[ hanna's reaction makes him a little wary. ]

Why were you worried?

Well, I dunno.

Maybe you felt obligated or something? I'm just saying, no one is above being manipulated, it can happen to anyone. Not to say that Terra is a bad guy, because he's not.

I just wanted to make sure you were okay, that's all.

[ his stomach knots a bit at the thought of being obligated--that'd exactly what he'd been hoping no one would think. ]

Actually, I'm happier than I've been for a long time.

[ his voice is quiet and a little vulnerable, but there is that burst of shine, reflected in his soft smile. ]

[And the only reason Hanna had questioned was because of their previous conversations on the subject, but he's happy he's fine.]

That's what I like to see... [He leans a little more heavily against Riku and looks up at him, hand lifting to gently poke his pointer finger into his cheek.] You've got a glow to you.

[ he waves a hand, shy and blushing. ]

Shut up.

Never. I think its cute.

[He's just going to continue on walking and leaning against Riku, enjoying the time out of the house and with Riku. Extra enjoying it because he can tease Riku and that's always been fun.]

So...Anything else happen that I didn't know about?

Ugh. Tease Terra, not me. At least he takes it in stride.

... I wanted to tell you what was happening, why I tried to push you away.

Awww, but its fun teasing you. You light up like a christmas tree or something.

[And he thinks he has a right as the occasional dad stand-in.

But, at the mention of their fight, Hanna quiets, renewed interest in the conversation flaring up easily.] Oh! Well...if you want to, go ahead! I'm listening.

[ he breathes in deep, before exhaling. ]

You weren't in the dreamscapes. You didn't get to see just how bad I could be--how... dangerous I was.

I know you've been around me a lot from your point of view, but it's different. I thought, if you couldn't see how much of a risk I was, I'd make you see it.

[ he rakes his hair back, grimacing. ]

We saw how that worked out.

[Hanna raises an eyebrow at Riku.] So you make me scream at you, and its all because you think you're too dangerous for me to hang around?

[Hanna gives him a look. A long, long look.]

Dude, my best friend back home is a Zombie. I have a friend who is a vampire and I go out and relocate paranormal creatures for a living. Things that think I'm tasty and don't just want my heart, they want everything else attached too.

My doctor doesn't have a license, works in this skeezy back alley, and I pay him in drugs.

And the magic I know? I learned from a deadbeat drunk homeless guy.

[So.]

What part of that makes you think I'm afraid of taking risks and that we couldn't be friends if you were one?

I never said you were afraid of taking risks--

[ riku frowns like hanna's words are bitter coffee, finally setting on a bit of a defensive scowl before he looks away.

this just leads right back into riku's point--hanna didn't see. that's all well and awesome, what hanna's done in his world. riku wouldn't get near a doctor, let alone one that didn't have a licence, but it's different. he just quietly shakes his head. at least hanna knows, now. ]

It was stupid. I was stupid. We agree on that.

Okay, it was stupid. Good. I'm glad we both agree.

And...you're never going to try something like that again, right? [Since it kind of hit close to home. A little closer than he'd like to admit with how he had been treated the last time Riku was here.

It's nice to know that any of that behavior now, Riku can admit was a stupid mistake.] We're besties, remember?

And that means I'm going to stick around. Like glue or something.

[ riku awkwardly regards hanna. he's never used the term 'best friends' for anyone but sora and kairi, and while, the last time he was here, he seemingly extended that to hanna... he truthfully can't. hanna is a good, close friend, but--he's not sora or kairi. ]

I get it. [ it's a little reserved. ] I won't treat you like that again.

[Leaning against Riku a little more heavily, he sighs, shaking his head.]

You know, if you don't agree with something, i'm not going to bite your head off for speaking your mind, Riku. [Because even if he can't tell to easily, the pauses kind of give him away.]

Everyone else seems to. [ he mutters quietly, keeping his eyes away from hanna. he gives a low exhale before; ] It's nothing. Don't worry about it, just me thinking.

Well I'm not going to.

[Still, he figures he should drop it, since they had been doing so well...] Anyways, how is it with Terra? Do you guys um, sleep in the same room when you're over there?

[And he's not asking to be nosy, just...] I mean, do you sleep a little easier?

[ way to light him up like a christmas tree. ]

Uh--I--!

[ nngh. he puts a hand against his face. ]

Yeah, we do. The nightmares are still bad, it's just... [ he looks at the ground, a little subdued. ] better to wake up with someone there.

[Hanna is at least a little more gentle than some people.] I know how that is. Kind of nice to be warm, and held...not have to worry about being alone, or waiting out the night by yourself.

... is it bad to want that, just for a little while?

[ it's out before riku can really realize himself, but hanna seemed to understand when it came down to the similar way of protectiveness between their boyfriends... he'd understand this, too, right? ]

You could want it forever and still be okay, Riku.
