Vriska, you and I are both in the same boat. I've told you about my weird thing right? I don't let people go. I'm always worrying if i'm doing the right thing, that i'll bother you if I say something, that I'm not important. It's...kind of years of mental programming. It's hard to get over, but i'm trying and, if you can believe it, i'm getting better.

I just...have to work harder. And I'm sorry if I keep things from you, I know it upsets you but I'm so used to going it alone, keeping shit to myself that It doesn't even occur to me that I'm doing it. It's a bad habit.

[He tries to smile just a bit, maybe to get her to smile.] Just give me a little smack or something when ever I do it. Even for the little things. I need a little conditioning, I know.

I guess it just seems like we keep talking about stuff changing, but not actually changing stuff. And I don't want to smack you-- metaphorically, haha!-- just for being a human. But I can't be a human, Hanna. If we're going to keep going with this you have to completely understand that I can't be your daughter. Moirails and daughter are totally, completely different; way, way more than it seems like you understand.

Change comes slow...especially for me. I mean, I know I seem to do everything else so fast, but the base of me is insecure, and scared and really bad at this shit, so. Time is key.

[He thinks that maybe there is more to it than he figures, but time will fix that. He's positive. Because if this doesn't work out, he's not sure what he'll do. He doesn't want her to leave, and he doesn't want to fuck this up because they had made commitments and he didn't want to ruin all of that because he couldn't figure something out and adapt.]

I guess all I have to say to that is just remember that I can't be a troll either, so we've got our little speed bumps to go over. It'll work Vriska, I'm absolutely positive it will.

Yeah, you're not a troll. And I'm not gonna lie, I feel kind of bad trying to get you to adapt to my culture's relationship when I know I can't adapt to yours. But I'm not going to pull that "I'm going to break up with you for your own good" shit. If it really ends up being for your own good, I'm trusting you to take care of yourself and do it, okay?
