Nothing big! Nothing we haven't already talked a little bit about. I just figured out how I want to explain stuff, that's all.

[He just was wondering if he'd done something wrong.

Regardless he shows up a few minutes later, knocking on the door before poking his head in.] You rang M'lady?

[she's sitting cross-legged in the hammock]

[He'll just be sitting down next to her.]

[she lies back across his legs, looking up at him]

I know you want to make me happy, and that's really cool-- but I don't want you to do big stuff just to make me happy. Okay?

[He's not sure what she means by that.]

Huh? Like what?

Well, like, you telling me stuff! If you don't want to tell me when something's wrong then there's probably some problem that can't just be fixed by me saying "I want you to tell me stuff" and you only saying "okay" because that's what I want to here. Or you living in here part-time instead of in Axel's room all the time. Stuff like that, I guess? Sure, I like when you say yes, but I want you to know that I don't want you to only say yes because it's what I want.

Get it? So if you're like "I would rather do something else, but I'll do this because it would make Vriska happy", tell me. Okay?

Vriska...You realize that love is kind of...a give and take, right? I mean I agree to do a lot of things because of how I feel about them. It doesn't mean that's the only reason why I do them, but...I guess, you're supposed to sometimes make sacrifices for the people you love.

No matter how big or small. So, when I do stuff like that? It's not just because I want to make you happy. I promise.

But that's what I mean; I don't want it to be a sacrifice! Not stuff like this. I know love is a give and take, and that's why I don't want to take and take and take.

I guess I mean that in my culture, you're supposed to want to do all that stuff. Maybe not the sleeping in the same room thing because trolls don't do that, but when something goes wrong your moirail is supposed to be the first person you want to tell. That's why I was so hurt when you wanted to tell Axel instead of me. And I know you're not a troll so you can't know how we do stuff, but if my feelings and your feelings are that different we should probably talk about that more, or maybe even figure something else out.

So that's why I want to know if you're only doing the big stuff out of obligation. I don't care if you only do stupid little things out of obligation, like letting me braid your hair. But if you only tell me things because you know I want you to, or if you only live in here because I asked if you could try it, then we should change things! That's why I asked you a couple months ago how you were feeling about living in two rooms. I know at first you only did it because I wanted it, but I wanted to know if that changed. If it did, then great! Buuuuuuuut if it didn't, we should do something else.

[Hanna's just going to sigh and settle down close, sure that she's not going to believe, him but...what he's going to say is the absolute truth.]

Vriska, I do what I want. That's about as truthful as I can. Nothing I do is something that I just, truly hate doing. I've always got to have a reason for it, seriously. You can't tell me to stop, because I live my life like I would independently. You can't...make me do things, I swear.

And...is this about the thing in the basement the other day? [Okay, so there was a reason why he told Axel that and not her, even if she won't like it.] The bogeyman preys on kids, mostly...and I know you're not a young kid, but...I just didn't want to put you in more harms way than you needed, yanno? I figured if both Axel and I were adults, we'd have an easier time against something that traditionally preys on kids. That's all...

And by the way I like it when you braid my hair, so. That's not out of obligation. [He likes his hair played with in all honesty.] And I do like sharing, even if...well, its still a little weird, but...I guess it makes me feel a little more like a dad or something.

[He's got a tiny little smile when he says it, giving her a hug.] And that's real special...

[she lets him give her the hug, leaning up to return it]

It's special to me, too. You're special to me.

I already told you to let me protect you like you protect me, so I won't get into that again. Just tell me if you're doing something only because I want you to, okay? We can do that for each other sometimes, but thinking that you big did stuff like that just to make me happy would probably make me pretty miserable!

[she tugs a strand of his hair, as she does]

And hey. You're my moirail for me, so I'll be your daughter for you. I'll keep teaching you how to do moirail stuff and seeing if you can feel moirail feelings, and you can teach me how to do daughter stuff and see if I can feel daughter feelings. Deal?

[He kind of laughs at that and shrugs.] I'm not sure it works that way, but if it works for moirail stuff, then I'll give it a shot. Being family...That's a little different. Its not something you can teach, but its something you just...grow into I guess?

I'm not asking you to be my daughter, since you're obviously not. I just...feel kind of like a parent to you though, and that's all me. You just be you, and i'll just be me, and I think we'll be happy like that, with out all the complications, huh?

[she pulls away from the hug just a little, enough so that she can lie back down with her head in his lap again]

It'll probably always be pretty confusing sometimes. But if we can work it out I want to stay with you forever.

I thought we'd already worked out the forever thing. [He grins at her, poking her gently in the side.]

[she grabs at his finger playfully, smiling just a little herself]

... You're lifespan's so short. We'll have to fix that.

I could become a vampire. That would keep me alive for a pretty damn long time, but then, I also couldn't go into peoples houses uninvited, see myself in a mirror, have a heartbeat....go out during the day.

It comes with a shit ton of down sides.

And I bet you wouldn't like being a vampire.

I bet we could find someone who could do magic on you, since magic is a thing on your planet.

I'm not sure if I could become one actually... [But that's neither here nor there.]

But anyways, maybe? But making someone live an unnaturally long life would be kind of freaky, and hard to find. We'll see what we can do when we get there though, I guess.

It wouldn't have to be freaky. But it's not like I'd make you if you didn't want to.

If anything we would need a credible magician or like...a faerie who could do it. But again, that might take a while. I guess we will just, see.

Do you think it's lame that I want you to have a lifespan more like mine?

Yours is just so... short. We could be together for your whole life and it'd still be only like a fifth of mine.

Naw...Its understandable.

I just, I don't really think people are supposed to live that long for a reason. Our bodies aren't really built for it, so we'd have to find someone real good to fix that.
