[He kind of laughs at that and shrugs.] I'm not sure it works that way, but if it works for moirail stuff, then I'll give it a shot. Being family...That's a little different. Its not something you can teach, but its something you just...grow into I guess?

I'm not asking you to be my daughter, since you're obviously not. I just...feel kind of like a parent to you though, and that's all me. You just be you, and i'll just be me, and I think we'll be happy like that, with out all the complications, huh?

[she pulls away from the hug just a little, enough so that she can lie back down with her head in his lap again]

It'll probably always be pretty confusing sometimes. But if we can work it out I want to stay with you forever.

I thought we'd already worked out the forever thing. [He grins at her, poking her gently in the side.]

[she grabs at his finger playfully, smiling just a little herself]

... You're lifespan's so short. We'll have to fix that.

I could become a vampire. That would keep me alive for a pretty damn long time, but then, I also couldn't go into peoples houses uninvited, see myself in a mirror, have a heartbeat....go out during the day.

It comes with a shit ton of down sides.

And I bet you wouldn't like being a vampire.

I bet we could find someone who could do magic on you, since magic is a thing on your planet.

I'm not sure if I could become one actually... [But that's neither here nor there.]

But anyways, maybe? But making someone live an unnaturally long life would be kind of freaky, and hard to find. We'll see what we can do when we get there though, I guess.

It wouldn't have to be freaky. But it's not like I'd make you if you didn't want to.

If anything we would need a credible magician or like...a faerie who could do it. But again, that might take a while. I guess we will just, see.

Do you think it's lame that I want you to have a lifespan more like mine?

Yours is just so... short. We could be together for your whole life and it'd still be only like a fifth of mine.

Naw...Its understandable.

I just, I don't really think people are supposed to live that long for a reason. Our bodies aren't really built for it, so we'd have to find someone real good to fix that.

They would have to be crazy to think I'm crazy! All the sane people would be jealous. And anyway, everybody already knows I want to go with you; I talk about you all the time.

You're going to make people disappointed when they meet me, after all that good stuff you're saying.

No one can be that perfect.

I don't tell them you're perfect! I tell them you're the most amazing person in the world.

I think that's close enough.

[she leans into his hand on her hair, turning her head to flash him a cheeky grin]

[He pokes her cheek, rolling his eyes.]

I didn't mean I was close, I meant, that's close enough to perfect, which I'm not.

I think you're idea of perfect is a little off.

[in a serious voice]

No way. Trust me, I've been off about perfect before. But this time, I have it spot-on.

[she reaches up to touch his forehead, but her arm isn't long enough, so she ends up poking his chin instead]

[And he's going to poke her chin too, grinning.] There, now we're even.

[she grabs for his hand, squeezing it]

You know everybody likes you, right?

I know a lot of people like me. Not everyone.

No one can be liked by everyone. [He squeezes her hand back.] Besides, if I didn't have any sort of conflict in my life, it'd be kind of boring, right?
