[Hanna had felt at least well enough to come up stairs two days after the news. Monday. And what a horrible monday it was. His eyes stung from crying, from the harsh low light of the basement, and...as he rifled through his drawer for new clothes, he found her letter, read and almost immediately following, cried.

It hurt a little to do it more, as if he were wringing out the last few drops from his reserve, but he couldn't help it. He just hoped that he could talk to her in a way that didn't feel dismissive because even if this spoke to his heart, he didn't have the energy or collected thought to talk her through this, make it better and change it so that they would both be comfortable.

Still, he took the letter and very gently and carefully folded it into a crane, the text on the outside making it look a little more exotic than the others in their room. It also reminded him of the way he always told her to write her feelings down when she was upset, and he smiled, knowing that her book, the letter was at least a little connected. That she actually listened to him about stuff like that, even if she said it was kind of stupid, made him feel a little better.

So, wiping his eyes, he quietly and calmly strings up the crane right above their bed, smiling at his handiwork. The first smile in days.

[oh Hanna, if you bring that up you're going to get a mini-lecture about how you don't have to change or make anything better, because for once she's pretty sure she gets the she's the one who needs to do at least a little changing]

[Well he's just going to finish grabbing his clothes for a shower. He'll find her afterwards for some silent cuddling.]

[Finishing up his shower, he finishes towel drying his hair and exits the bathroom with a fresh pair of pajamas. It isn't like he's going to leave the house anyways, he knows that. But, walking through the house, he is quietly looking for Vriska, peaking in rooms here and there like a mouse.]

[she's in their room, curled up in the hammock with a few of Hanna's sweaters, napping]

[And when he finds her, he'll quietly come into the room and find his place beside her, stealing a sweater or two in place of a blanket.]

[she stirs, opens her eye-- and smiles a little, stealing the sweaters back and fumbling around for a real blanket]

Nerd...

[He mumbles softly, cuddling close as she reaches for a blanket.]

I like them; they smell like you.

[though with him right here they're kind of superfluous]

[Hanna can't say much in his defense. He's been sleeping with Axel's scarf and his wayfinder.]

Mmm...

[Vriska curls in tighter, eye closed, pressing her forehead to his and letting out a breath]

[she traces a heart on his cheek]

[His own eyes are closed, bloodshot for the lack of sleep and crying he's done, and he'd rather not see. He doesn't want her to feel guilty, but the bags are still present. Hard to miss really.

Instead of saying anything though, his hand raises to curl around hers and hold it tight, sighing before he cuddles close and tries to relax, if only just a little.]

[squeezing his hand, she lifts her head to rest it higher up on the pillow, cradling his own against her chest]

[she definitely noticed the bags; please sleep, Hanna 8(]

[It takes a while, but he relaxes bit by bit, lulled a little by the sound of her heartbeat and the way she's holding his hand. He's exhausted, but...there's more than one reason why he hasn't been sleeping.

he's afraid of what will come to him when he does.]

[OOC: -having them since he first bugged Pitch, right?]

[she'll just keep lying there the way she is now, with no plans to move-- she wants to be here if he falls asleep, and then also when he wakes up]

[After almost an hour of fighting it, he finally stills against her, sleeping in the way an exhausted person would, fitful and quickly diving deep into sleep.

He probably wouldn't wake up even if she moved completely out of under him.]

[still, she doesn't-- she is glad when he falls asleep, though, and she lets out a little sigh of relief]

[these last few months have really sucked]

[They really have. And Hanna's sure they're not going to stop sucking either if his current dream has anything to say about it.

He couldn't have been asleep for more than half an hour when it starts, and he shifts in her arms, hiding his face against her shoulder. It isn't much, just the start of something awful, but the longer he sleeps, the more the darkness seems to seep in, memories resurfacing, cutting and pasting information to trick his brain and make it all that much more worse.

And a few more minutes in his fingers are curling up into fists, shifting again or rather trying to squirm away from what ever it was his mind was supplying him with. Outside somewhere there is the sound of a horse.]

[Vriska has just barely dropped off to sleep herself, but his movement wakes her up]

[she really wants to go kill that boogeyman guy, consequences be damned; she wants to load one of Jo's guns with rock salt and go to town]

Hanna.

[she shakes his shoulder, wanting to wake him up before it gets too bad]

[If she had just called him, he wouldn't have woken up, but the shake gets to him at least a little and the nightmare he had been having shatters around him, his eyes blinking open to stare up at her. It hadn't been long, but there was something to be said about Pitch's nightmares.

He was good at what he does and Hanna doesn't even look like he's rested a wink. In fact, he looks rather miserable, and sick instead.] V-vriska?

Yeah, I'm right here. More nightmares, huh?

[He runs his fingers through his hair and nods, bringing his hands down to rub at his eyes. Pressing the palms to them tightly, he groans and lays back again, trying to calm himself with slow breaths, but its not working very well.]

I don't feel so great...

Do you, uh. Need me to do anything?

Murder a spooky fucker?

[He feels like he's going to throw up, and he actually stands up, holding his stomach, unsure if he's going to be trying to dry heaving if he tries.] I dunno...I...

[He covers his face with his hands and sighs raggedly.] I dunno...

And then my heart exploded with feels
