Well, even so, there is no good excuse. But, did he apologize?

[Hanna can't help but think Zell would sincere in an apology. He can easily tell the guy genuinely likes her, at the very least, hanging out with her.]

Yeah. And I think he meant it, too. He said he was drunk and he said he knew it was dumb, but I'm still mad at him.

Well, there's one point for him at the very least. And it's okay to be mad, that's a serious thing, even if he was drunk. I know i get overly affectionate when I get drunk, so I generally don't drink with anyone but you, or Lea, or at least have him around when I am, just so I can be held accountable.

I can be really dumb when I'm drunk, and that's one of the reasons I mainly just stick to the runes. Alcohol can turn you into a real asshole. [He hugs her more tightly.] So, what are you going to do about this?

I don't know. And I think blaming the alcohol is a total cop-out, so I'm glad he didn't do that.

I just feel so dumb, especially after the Jake thing, and I can't help thinking this happens because I'm too soft on people. If I punished people who did me wrong like I used to back on Alternia, he would never have dared to kiss Leon!

Well, there are a lot of movies that talk about that. You either rule by fear or love. Relationships can work that way too, but...by a human standard, mutual respect and trust is the better, healthier option. The more you hurt someone you love, the more they associate you with pain, right?

You don't want that, do you?

But, in this case, I think it'd be appropriate to have him earn your trust back in some kind of way. Or hold him accountable for stuff. What do you think?

... I don't want him to associate him me with pain. I really don't. And I hope that doesn't make me weak.

I guess your idea sounds good.

In a human standpoint, Vriska, it takes strength to, yanno. Work out problems. Taking the easy road and using violence or something to prove a point isn't something that most people would encourage.

[He pauses a moment, knowing that he isn't exactly the poster child for that these past few months.]

But, I think if you can do that, it means youre a bigger person than most.

[she tilts her head away from his shoulder to look up at him]

[but it's Hanna's culture, and if he really thinks it'll make her stronger...]

Well...[He thinks about it a moment, but, nothing really comes to mind.] Not exactly...

I'd rather you not talk about what we've specifically talked about to other people, but...at the same time I wouldn't mind if you used your better judgement. Like talking to Lea about it is okay. My friends, people I know and wouldn't probably mind mentioning it too...but.

I dunno. I can't really think of anything. [He looks at her curious.] How about you?

God no. I'd definitely never do that; not to you.

And I can't think of anything that you don't already know about, so... yeah.

Well, alright. Since that's all cleared up, you ready for a nap?

[she's grabbing a blanket to pull over them, and presses her ear to his chest]

I missed warm. I missed you. I missed heartbeats; you have such a nice heartbeat.

[He doesn't mind at all, putting an arm around her.] I tell Lea that same thing all the time.

Do you mind me saying it to you?

Nope, not at all. Though, I think it means different things when I tell Lea. I mean, he didn't always have a heart beat. But that same sentimentality is still there.
