You know, Hanna might have actually not read the contents of it if it had been from someone else. But seeing as his boyfriend had trapped CK in a box, he feels like it would be irresponsible not to at least open it.

And when he opens it and nothing bad happens, what harm is there in a little peak?

And by the time hes done reading it, he already knows he's a little shit, but The Cat King shouldnt expect any less from his nosey, detective Warden, so there.

Also what the fuck, he is not leaving this sitting on a shelf until the end of time. Thats dumb and if CK had the words here, he could stand to say them before their love becomes doomed or what ever. He's doing him a favor...

When David gets back to the cabin, he's wrung out. Tired from emotions he can't feel now. He knows the empty is a relief, but it's a relief he's getting strangely tired of.

But he's not sure he's brave enough to talk to Hanna while he's feeling like a live wire. Fuck, he doesn't trust himself with that many emotions, not when he can't predict the feelings that will come from this conversation.

Sufficed to say, if Hanna is home when David arrives, he will see the Terminator prowl in looking agitated. If he is not home when David gets there, well. He'll return to David sitting on the couch, posture exact, staring at nothing in particular. He can't sleep. Even when he actually wants a nap, apparently.

Either way, David will look Hanna right in the face when he sees his friend. "I expect you heard the pairing announcement?"

Hanna is home, sitting on his bed in the main living space and folding flowers. When David comes in, he's just about to say hey, except context clues immediately tell him that maybe that isnt the right approach.

He didn't, actually. He's been in flower hell and his fingertips are burned with hot glue and stained with marker, but he holds up a finger and opens his comm to check.

"Well. Um." Fuck. What the fuck coach? Fumbled the ball and then tossed it back in months later?

"You want a cup of Abuelitas?"

Something very strange occurs to David for the first time, something incredibly obvious and no less weird for that: he isn't alone. He has someone, he has people beyond Saga to talk to about his reaction to all of this. His feelings about it.

Henry's feelings.

He walks over to sit on the floor next to Hanna's bed. David needs a minute to work himself up to the switch.

"Flowers?" He likes hearing Hanna talk about his projects.

I'd ask Chase, but he's busy taking a month-long nap. And some of it's gonna be for him, so I don't wanna spoil the surprise.

He wants to be angry still, he doesn't want to look at Sheehan and see him kneeling on the floor, cold instead of how he will be, but its going to happen anyways.

He's avoided John, doesn't want to tell Sheehan what he had tried to do to his corpse either, but... Hanna can't just leave it there either.]

[Unfortunately for Vincent, Hanna does not avoid trouble as much as he should. In this instance, he wasn't looking for a fight, he wanted to help as soon as he'd heard gunshots, but John knocking him out might do more than piss Hanna off, his response delayed by over an hour.

When it does come, Hanna returns with a text.]

[He almost misses a step on the stair as he stares at the message, taking in a stuttering breath before shooting another text off immediately after.]

There's something a bit unsettling about a (mostly) human-looking man eating cat food right out of the can, but that's what Hanna walks in on when he returns to his cabin.

He's looking... tense. But not as wild-eyed and desperate as one might expect. And there's a silver choker around his neck, solid metal, with cat paws holding a silver o-ring at the front.

Hanna pauses at the door, not quite jumpscared by CK, but he does stare at him a moment before shrugging it off and closing the door behind him.

"If you want something better than canned, I might have grabbed some dried fish snacks for you when I went home," he just hadn't said anything about them since December had sucked royally.

"Was supposed to give them to you for christmas, but-" Well?

Hanna walks into the kitchen eyeing CK and his new jewelry, "Anyways, what can I do you for, your majesty?"
