[It seems someone has decided to change his voicemail following graduation. Hes trying so hard to sound professional, business like, but Hanna's usual enthusiasm bleeds through easily.]

You have reached the mailbox of Hanna Cross. If you don't have an appointment, my secretary will follow up with a return message shortly. [a short pause.] meaning me. I'll get back to you, don't worry.

And if this is an emergency what are you doing on the phone? Cardio is your friend. byyyye!

"No," The Cat King grumbles, opening the packet and sticking a fish in his mouth to chew on. "But I knew you'd hunt me down to pester me about it when you heard, anyway."

There's a bit of a code here. The Cat King isn't usually proactive about things he doesn't want to talk about. He just doesn't want to admit he needs to talk about it.

"Oh, I'll bother you alright." Hanna says with a smile, grabbing himself a soda from the fridge and glancing back, "you want something to drink? Milk, water, tea?"

He'd have to warm it up in the microwave like a heathen but the option is still there.

"I Like your new jewelry. You want to brag about that for a sec before I start bugging you with questions?"

"Milk. Warmed." While he's being demanding. Might as well go for the good stuff. And it'd better not be that reduced fat swill.

"It's not jewelry. Don't you know a collar when you see one?"

Hanna grabs the milk, pouring him a glass and sticking it in the microwave for a short time. As he's waiting he raises an eyebrow at CK, "now...I might be wrong, but in what world would you be wearing a collar and I call it that first try and you don't get offended that I think you're really into wearing collars?"

He knows he cannot win, but okay your Majesty. The microwave beeps, he takes the cup up, setting it in front of him to try again, "anyways, ooh, thats a nice collar, tell me about it."

"I suppose we'll never know." The Cat King swallows his fish, before taking the mug in his hands and washing it down. A lovely combination, surely.

"It was a gift. For Iago. He does appreciate a good collar."

Hanna's mouth is a thin, flat line as CK embellishes the words. He isn't a fucking prude but hearing about CK's sexploits is not his favorite and he parks himself on a stool, resting his elbows on the counter, chin in hands.

"Gotcha. You gonna get a tag made? Give him a little certificate of adoption? Or is that taking the game too far?"

And the Cat King does so love to see Hanna squirm. It's delightful. Though not why he's here, today. "Don't be ridiculous. The perks that come with this are for him alone to know." He waggles his eyebrows at Hanna, knowing that anything he's imagining is going to be so much worse than the truth.

"He still plans to follow Mikodez home."

He didn't really want to know anyways, but keeping the cat king in an amicable mood enough to 'participate' sometimes took sacrifices. Mostly harmless if you dont count the weird dreams he sometimes had that he cant quite call nightmares but close enough.

"Which I guess gives you two options? Let him go without you and go back home, or figure it out and be together, yeah?"

"Don't be ridiculous. Neither of those are options." The Cat King huffs, picking out another fish and staring at it for a long moment.

"I need to follow him. But I won't be trapped in a world not my own for any human. Not when I'm likely to outlive him by centuries."

Hanna raises an eyebrow, "thats what figure it out meant." Problem solving since he figured the lifespan gap would be an issue.

And as much as the Cat King liked Iago, he cant see him being the family cat for centuries. Hes the kind of cat a family has that bonds with one person and gives the rest of them looks like they are essentially garbage.

"Before you get there you gotta be able to leave first. Cant count your kittens before they're born."

"It's a bit more complex than "figure it out", I'd say." He sniffs, chewing on the fish thoughtfully. "If only I could share my lives with him. Imagine." Ah, yes, a sort-of immortal Iago. What could possibly go wrong?

"And I refuse to rely on the Admiral maybe possibly deciding to pick me up again down the line."
