[He looks up, just a little, curious.]

No occasion. It was going to be your birthday but I decided it wasn't special enough for that.

Oh... [He's just going to sit up a little and smile.] You know, you don't have to get me anything super special for my birthday.

Naw. Twenty-five isn't so important. But if you want to, I'm not stopping you.

[He looks interested, and that sounds better than talking right now, but he knows if she brought it up she probably wants to talk about it.] What did you want to talk about?

And I just meant if you wanted to talk about anything, we could. Or maybe you just don't want to think about the Axel stuff right now? I don't know. You've just kind of gone through a lot with me and then him, so...

[Hanna shifts a little, looking away from Vriska, to the floor instead.] I don't really feel like talking about it much...

[He wasn't mad so much as upset about it any more, and part of him was trying to prove a point. He wasn't just going to be a push over and say everything was alright. That it was totally cool that his two friends had beat the shit out of each other, and that they had broken a promise. He'd rather Axel know that hey, he screwed up a little in Hanna's mind, and while he can tolerate that? He knows people make mistakes, it's not going to make him happy either.]

Did he say anything to you?

We talked about it a little, yeah. But we don't have to talk about it now.

[He'd want to talk about it if they talk about what Axel said...]

Can you tell me what he said?

He doesn't want to break up with you. That's good, right?

Well I never wanted to either. I mean it was just one fight...

[It was just one fight. Sure it was kind of a big fight, but. Nothing to rage quit over either.]

And I said I agreed with him that he should be able to fight, but that I was still on your side because I'm with you and not him. And then I said that maybe he should make a compromise with you!

The fighting wasn't so much what I was angry abou- well...

[Hanna makes a face and leans more heavily against her side.] He promised he would behave, and so did Demyx. And then the entire thing just explodes. And he ignores me completely. I mean, it was like I wasn't even there. Or that just because It's me, I couldn't have stopped him even if I wanted too...

So you felt invisible and weak?

[she feels that, bro]

Yeah. That sucks.

Well, no...He just completely underestimated me, and it pissed me off.

And then Demyx tells me to keep the fuck out of it and he doesn't even say anything! I dunno...there was just a lot that happened that made me mad, but now? I guess I'm just upset about it.

Man, that sucks. Something like that happened when I was dating Jake; his friend Roxy called me a whore and he didn't say shit.

You should tell Axel that he's supposed to stick up for you. Because he is!

Well, I know a lot of the time its just words? But...It still pissed me off. Especially since they're both my friends.

But I mean, I don't need him sticking up for me, I like to handle stuff on my own sometimes too. I'm capable of protecting myself, but...I guess, I just thought if he thinks I need protecting, then obviously I'm not a threat either.

But I can take care of myself. I just don't think he thinks so.

Maybe it's not that. I know you can take care of yourself, but I like taking care of you. He probably does, too. And you know we can take care of ourselves, but you still like taking care of us, right? It's like that.

[It just kind of sinks in as a negative thing a lot more easily since he knows the both of them are stronger than he is.]

[she slides an arm around his shoulders, tilting her head to rest against his]

[At the mention, Hanna can't help but grin. Okay, so maybe he had gotten some sort of satisfaction from doing that.]
