[It seems someone has decided to change his voicemail following graduation. Hes trying so hard to sound professional, business like, but Hanna's usual enthusiasm bleeds through easily.]

Hey Hanna! You busy? Iiiii need to tell you something.

Kinda important, so don't call back if you're doing something half distracted! Full attention, busy bee.

[Well he was busy, and then that screeched to a halt when Sokie mentioned she wanted his attention and now he cant do shit until he calls her back.

Gotta love executive dysfunction.]

Hey! I'm all ears, promise. Just sitting here with my buddy David who is...not listening cause he's out like a light.

[Talk about being rude about that excutive dysfunction!

But she has a reason to be at least. She laughs a little, in part because she feels giddy.]

Well, you can tell him or let him listen in or whatever. But, I wanted to tell you since- you're important to John and I.

And...we're getting married. John. And me.

I proposed.

[She really fumbled this but she's excited and hoping he'll be happy for them...?]

[The feed goes quiet as Sokie just comes out with her announcement. He had been reclining in the spare room, had a movie paused and everything, but he sits up and stares at his communicator.

Though Hanna is never speechless for long.]

Oh my god...what the fuck?!

Well he obviously said yes, but- when the hell did you decide to do that? You gonna do anything fancy? God- I'm gonna have to dress up, and figure out-

[He'd given a Senbazuru to Arthur and Lester for their wedding present, but he'd been a little more focused on the crane folding when he'd been an Inmate. Gotta fucking catch up so he could make another one.]

O-oh, uh. Congratulations by the way. I almost forgot.

[Wow, she struck Hanna speechless. She pulls the communicator a little away and she laughs a little at his reaction.

Well, this is the excitement she wanted to hear.]

Thanks Hanna. You being excited- it's all the congrats I need.

It'll be awhile yet, after I graduate. But- I kinda...asked him by accident.

But we agreed. We're wearing the rings- he made them for us. You should see his- it's gorgeous.

[His enthusiasm knows no bounds, though he might also be covering up some guilt that while their relationships had started around the same time he still couldn't bring himself to drop anything close to an ILU and here she was getting engaged.]

Bitch, why are you talking about his ring, we're talking about yours.

[He switches on the camera, all blue eyes and chunky frames on the screen.] lemme see lemme see lemme seeee!

[This isn't a race Hanna! She and John are forever and always different! And they like it that way.]

Because you need to admire his ring when you see it!

[A huff. The camera turns on, and she shows him her ring, already on her finger.]

This ring is the stars, his is skulls. Him, and me. It's perfect.

[Maybe not, but most of his life has just felt like playing catch up.

The sound he makes when she shows him her ring is ridiculous though, still too close to the camera.]

What? That thing is gorgeous. Look at you, fucking iced out as hell.

[She sounds...embarassed? Flustered? She is.]

This is just a close up- see?

[She pulls her hand back from the camera.]

Just a normal size. But yes, he has excellent taste.

You'll have to show me in person. But you're right, he does have good taste.

Of course I will. And you should bug John so he can show his. He's very excited about it.

[She flexes her hand, smiling to herself.]

I'm excited, and nervous, and...still thinking it was really funny how it was all by accident.

Like- we're...not typical, and we don't want to be. And this is just...going to continue this.

With a big party and everything.

Of course I will, as soon as im done celebrating with you.

[He doesnt think Sokie could be typical, and neither could John, but its because if that that hes sure they'll work so well.]

Well im excited for you both, and if you need anything, just holler. You put any thought into what you want for a ceremony? Or just like...loose dreams?

[Because John likes hugs. And hugs from people he likes? Are the best.]

Mostly it's...he makes the cake. And...I'd like you, Arthur, and Sheehan to be involved. In planning.

Because you three? Mean a lot to John and I.

[it isn't often that Hanna is speechless but she's gotten him twice now, mouth open and blinking before a shy smile settles on his face.]

Yeah? You sure? I mean, thats- I'll um...I'll do my best, if that's what you want.

Because I know you care about us, like Les and Arthur do. Like- it doesn't have to be...big things.

Or anything, if you don't want. Like- we don't know when it'll happen. But- yeah.

Of course I do... [And it's just nice to feel wanted and be invited to be involved. He might worry he's going to screw it up somehow, but he'll get over it.]

Maybe if Port doesnt suck we can look around, get some ideas. That'd be fun...

...man I forgot to give a shit about port because of the engagement.

I mean, fair.

Though maybe you want to spend your time off boat with John, which is also fair to.

[He rocks back and forth in his seat to get some energy out.]

You telling Vin soon? I'll keep my mouth shut if you're doing it soonish but if not I might explode.

It's not a secret or anything. I have no idea what we'll end up doing, and I'm sure you'll have a lot more fun telling your boy.

He wears the dressed up look much better than I do, and this means I get to drag him along to another ceremony. A plus for me.

I mean, ive gotten some nice things in my closet now but I dunno... you want me in a suit and tie? [She and John are one of the few he'd probably do that for if it was asked of him anyways.]

I could try... probably shouldnt share any of the pics, but hey, they'd be just for me.

[Depending on the port, he might just try and see if they could find something nice to wear and hide it in the back of the closet?]

That'd be kind of fun though... going dress shopping. It could be like that show say yes to the dress, but with a bunch of weirdos from the Barge as your entourage.

[She laughed.]

Sounds like a nightmare of people getting weird on me and getting stuck in some giant cupcake dress. Petty revenge at its finest.
