[It seems someone has decided to change his voicemail following graduation. Hes trying so hard to sound professional, business like, but Hanna's usual enthusiasm bleeds through easily.]

You have reached the mailbox of Hanna Cross. If you don't have an appointment, my secretary will follow up with a return message shortly. [a short pause.] meaning me. I'll get back to you, don't worry.

And if this is an emergency what are you doing on the phone? Cardio is your friend. byyyye!

No very obvious clues, though she's got something in her pocket she keeps touching. And she might be a little more buggy than her every-day, with a few more butterflies around her, some fireflies whose light doesn't really show in the library, and a trio of large hornets in her hair.

"Guess. I'll give you a clue after each guess."

Hanna crosses a leg over his knee, sitting back in his chair and crossing his arms as well as he thinks. Hmmm.

"Huh. Well? You split a hive that was getting too big? I have no idea if that's even a thing, but...does it have anything to do with bugs at all?"

"Nothing to do with bugs. But that is on the to-do-list, thanks for reminding me. This has been a collaborative project. So you got two hints there, actually."

Collaborative and not bugs. Gotcha.

"Did you and Ulla redecorate something together? Make a new mural somewhere I wasn't aware of?"

"Not yet. Also on the list." Oh, they will definitely have to redecorate soon, and the thought makes her expression outright glow.

"My partner in this one is someone else you know."

He catches the way she seems to get happier at that last guess, though he isn't sure if it's just just cause she's cute and loves doing stuff with her girlfriend, or if it was close.

"That clue sucks by the way, I know a bunch of people you know." He pouts though he isnt being serious, rubbing his chin as he thinks a little more.

"Weren't you and Thrawn working on something? You finish what ever that was?"

Okay, she's trying so hard to have a straight face. "Not that, either. Man, warden to warden, I thought you'd be better at this."

Hanna is silent as he stares at her, face blank a moment before he calmly shoves out his chair and grabs her arm, walking her towards one of the private study rooms in the library.

He says nothing as they cross the short distance, opening the door for her and ushering her in before following her in.

When the door finally clicks shut though...

Hanna grips her shoulders, practically bouncing, "YOU! You just sat there and let me guess like a total dumbass, you fucking brat!"

Hanna then let's go and starts half pacing, half jogging around the small study space, "what the fuuuuuck!"

She is holding in giggles the whole way there, and gives his wrist a squeeze before letting go so he can pace.

"Hey, I didn't have to tell you at all. You'd have figured it out as soon as you get back to your cabin. Took me weeks."

"I mean- sure." He's still pacing because he has all this energy. "Oh my god...I'll have that shitty shower in my cabin again, and I'll have a stove." Like he ever uses it cause he just burns things and doesn't know how to cook, but still!

Though that makes him curious, stopping in his tracks to look up at her, "what'd you get? Gotta know what my tax dollars are going towards." He grins, "unless it's a secret, then you don't even have to tell me."

Taylor does want to keep it a secret. But if she doesn't tell someone, she'll burst, and Hanna did most of the work anyway. Like him, she's fizzing with happy energy.

"You've got to promise not to tell."

Hanna snaps his fingers at her with a wink, "I am a pro at keeping secrets. I'll even pinkie promise if you want me to."

"Hanna Talk Cross, what secrets have you kept?" she teases, but she can't last any longer. She pulls her hand out of her pocket, dithers just a moment longer, and opens it.

The two rings on her palm look impossibly delicate, carved out of iridescent shell, their wavering rainbow patterns ethereal in the overhead light. They each even reflect a soft halo onto her hand, as if they are illuminated from within.

"Wouldn't you like to know." He says with a grin, trying to be patient as she fishes what ever out of her pocket.

When she opens her palm he is immediate drawn to them, taking a few steps closer so he can get a better look.

"Damn, Taylor...those are gorgeous." And while he has an inkling of what she might intend to do with two rings, he looks up at her, waiting for her to tell him herself. No guessing here, this is her fun secret.

"If someone wears one, they can choose where any door opens to. Anywhere." Her voice is softer, eyes fixed on the rings. She is thrilled for Hanna and his graduation. But these are filling her head with visions of a future she only recently learned she wants.

"So I can ask Ulla to marry me, and we won't have to choose between our families."

Hanna nods, appreciating the Monsters Inc-Ness of it and how fun that would be to try out. He is aware that some people have gained the ability to travel dimensions, but he hasn't ever really thought about wanting a deal for himself, though that would be rather tempting.

But then the next bit comes, and while he had wondered, he had wanted to hear it from her, and if he'd been smiling before, well. He isn't sure he can contain the absolute joy on his face. And because it's important to him, because it's important to her, he can't help but ask...

"Am I the first person you've told?" If he isn't, that's okay, but the idea that she trusted him with her joy enough was very heartwarming and he isn't quite sure what to do with that other than be overwhelmed with excitement and that kind of familial love that he has gotten tastes of here and there on board, but has missed for years.

"Almost." She closes her hand around the secret rings again, holding them against her chest. "First person on board. First time I've said the actual thing. But I went advice-hunting off-ship the other weekend. I wanted to- I don't know, get a jump on the speedbumps. So I asked Dracula about it, and Shen Wei. About the mortal/immortal thing."

Well that is entirely good enough for him.

"Yeah? Gosh, that's fucking amazing, T. I'm so excited for you." And while he wants to ask about Dracula cause he didn't get to talk to Hunter about him enough, that can wait.

"Do you have a timeline, when you're gonna ask her?"

"Soon," is as good as she can manage. "Maybe a few days? Or a week or two. I know she'll say yes." And she does, and that knowing is half of why she wants so badly to ask. "She's going to ask me if I'm sure a million times, but she's going to say yes."

"Well you don't rush that shit, you do it when you want to, and I think...gosh... kinda weird that I've thought about what I could do when I go home, and now I get to do it." He's two months late, but he can visit his parents himself, fix his mess...make sure Conrad doesn't die because of his own stupid problems.

"You mind keeping my secret for a bit? Give you some time to not worry about people asking you what you got if they decide to bug you about it?"

"Pinkie promise. You swinging home for a bit, then?"

Hanna holds out his pinkie to her, just to make it official.

"I've got some stuff to take care of. And I gotta ask my buddy if it's cool with him, asking for his life and his memories back...can't exactly do something like that without asking, you know?" He knows better than that now anyways.

"I'm gonna tell Ulla though, If that's okay? Maybe see if she can give me an advance in my allowance. And Vinny so he doesn't just think I dropped off the Barge without saying good bye. That'd be fucking rude..." Especially since he's pretty sure he's a large part of why he got here in the first place. Him and a whole fucking army of people just asking him to care for himself.

Very official pinkie swear, and Taylor makes no attempt to hide how happy she is, laughing quietly. And then she pulls him into a tight hug.

"So fucking happy for you, Hanna. And I'm so glad you're staying."

Hanna is pulled forward with a soft oof, though quickly reciprocates the hug, squeezing her tightly back.

"Hey, I might still keep up that pros and cons list, but if I have half a chance of solving a cold case like Ryan's, I'd stay another twenty years." He sucks in a deep breath before releasing it slowly, some of the tension he'd held since he arrived months ago finally leaking out with it.

"That and I've got a boyfriend to cheerlead, can't exactly just dip."

"Ulla and I have people to stay for too. And I'd like one more deal, especially if I get another DIYer like you."
