[It seems someone has decided to change his voicemail following graduation. Hes trying so hard to sound professional, business like, but Hanna's usual enthusiasm bleeds through easily.]

And if this is an emergency what are you doing on the phone? Cardio is your friend. byyyye!

[ That was alright... sense of time is a little skewed on this barge for him since there was no sun and he has not quite adjusted to seeing little numbers that meant time. It wasn't exactly a system they used back home.

His eyes opened at the sound on footsteps, and brightened considerably at the large bowl of fluffy food in the other's hands. He got up in a hurry. ]

Let this young monk help donor with that.

[ And promptly stole the bowl... so it wouldn't spill, of course. He returned to seated cross legged on the couch, the bowl settled very safely in his lap. ]

No questions.... please proceed. Oh, this is quite delicious.

[He grins knowingly when the young man takes the popcorn, not at all commenting on it because that was very much a 'young man' sort of thing to do. Perfectly normal and expected.

Flopping down on the seat next to him, Hanna presses play and grabs a handful of popcorn himself.]

Oh my god, right? Popcorn and a movie go together like milk and cookies, man.

[ Except that probably didn't get the understanding look that Hanna was probably expecting. Instead, the one Wu Xin wore was inquisitive. ]

Milk with cookies?

[ Wu Xin was still getting over how widely accepted drinking milk was here. He had only heard of these practices in the north. ]

Is that with goat milk and horse milk? Does it pair well?

[The movie has started, but Hanna is staring straight at Wu Xin.]

Horse Milk?

Yes. At least, that is what this young monk has heard those in the north drank. Milk drinking was not as common in Beili where this young monk has been staying.

[ He looked back at Hanna. ]

Is it so surprising?

[ This was such common knowledge that he didn't even look towards Hanna as he answered, preferring to keep his eyes on the moving pictures on the screen. ]

Well, I just don't think I've ever heard anyone say they drink horse milk before.

Like, we got cow, goat, oat, almond, rice, uh...hemp. I could probably name a few more honestly, but. They don't sell Horse milk at the store.

[He says before grabbing a large handful of popcorn and shoving it in his tiny little mouth.]

[ This time it was Wu Xin's turn to look at Hanna as he listed the milk. ]

Oat, almond, rice, and hemp...

These are not animals. Why would they call it milk?

[ To make it convenient, he relented his hold on the popcorn and placed it between them. But he did take a handful first. ]

I think there is sheep's milk too but...really don't think that one is easy to get either.

And you know, I think it's because it can be used as a substitute? For people who don't consume any animal products at all. Vegans.

Why name it such?

The nectar of almonds or rice or oats... There could be so many things to call it instead of the item that they do not consume. So strange.

This young monk for one is glad to discover I do not need to be vegan. This butter makes this popcorn much more delicious!

[ The movie was starting to get into the fighting scenes, but Wu Xin didn't look impressed by that. Instead he was frowning and considering their moves. ]

So people feel better about it I think? It's literally just like, soaked what ever and then you blend that and sieve it I'm sure... People get weird about food and what it's called sometimes, especially if they have dietary restrictions.

And dude, I think I would cry if I had to be vegan. Butter and cheese and shit? delicious like- Oh! Wait, this is a good part!

[Hanna is so into it, enough that he doesn't even realize that his companion is not at all impressed.]

Before this young monk became a monk, I had eaten many things. I do not recall anymore though, it has been too long ago.

[ Or if he still recalled, it wasn't something that was worth sharing.

Rather, he went back to the 'movie' when he realized there was very little worth learning in it, but it was entertaining as a general story. It was more lively than simply listening to a storyteller.

But the demonstration of the moves were good at the beginning. He smiled a little as he learned those easily. ]

Why do they not fight with internal force?

[Glancing over, Hanna isn't exactly sure what he means by that.]

Uh, what is that? Internal force...sounds like something from an anime.

What is an 'anime'?

[ Hanna should have expected that. ]

All people have the potential to have the internal force as it is the Qi that runs through the meridians of a person.

Without it, fighting is just... [ He waved a robed hand at the screen, his large sleeves swinging. ] ... That.

Oh...it's like, cartoons? But Japanese. You draw shit and then put it together real fast so it looks like moving pictures. Maybe we can see if they have DBZ in the library...

[He isn't sure he has qi, but that'd be kind of fun to learn.] So, does that mean you could teach me to punch like goku?

This young monk is not quite sure what 'cartoons' are either. [ He looked a little helpless with how lost he was with that conversation, but picked it up again after with a soft smile. ]

It takes many years to cultivate a person's qi...

The power of a person's internal force is both congenital and hard work. Was Goku a powerful martial artist?

More powerful than... [ He waved a hand at Ip Man on screen, almost dismissively. ]

Hey, Ip Man is a powerful martial artist where he's from. Just because where you come from has special martial arts powers, doesn't mean everywhere does.

but, yes. Goku is definitely a powerful martial artist. And kind of an idiot, but I'm pretty sure that was because of head trama as a kid, so. He gets a pass.

Of course. Comparison with different environs is unfair for Mister Ip.

[ Never mind that he pitied that a little. But they could always be the king Koi in their little pond. ]

As this one has learned, there is no such thing as idiocy. Merely they have talents in other matters. If he is a great martial artist, then he couldn't truly be an idiot, no? This young monk knew someone like that too, a talented young man with an innocent heart.
